We talked about Martin Luther King Jr. day, and we all made sighns for things we want to change in society. We got everything from ‘end climate change’ to ‘support our bake sale’.
On Wednesday, we had a field trip to the Nebraska History Museum. The main exibet we saw was on archeology. They had a mystery machine (literaly a machine that they didn’t know what it was), and a wall to paste your ideas on. We think it was coin press or water pump. Or a coffee grinder.
They had dolls of all the presidents, but the latest one they had was Theodore D Franklin. They also had desks from Pioneer times you could sit in, and a butter churner.
They had an exibet on segragation in Nebraska that we tied back to Martin Luther King Jr. day.
We also had activities to do, such as making a model hearth out of playdough, and guessing which artifacts were older.
On Tuesday, we had a PLC day and an open house.
On Feb. 2nd, we will have a bake sale to support wounded animals in Australia, at 6300 Ast, in the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, 10-11 am.
